About Me
James Drynan has been playing professionally for over thirty years. Based in Toronto during the late 1960s,he played with Rompin Ronnie Hawkins band, was session guitarist for CBC program The Music Machine, which featured Doug Riley, Moe Koffman,Terry Clarke, and was arranger and guitarist for Toronto, Bad Axe,Calliope, playing in Toronto clubs such as The Gasworks, The Savarin, The Friars as well as jazz quartets at the Holiday Inn, Chinatown, The Westin, The Granite Club and many others. He has been featured on CBC radio and TV, CTV, Toronto, CHCH, Hamilton, City TV, Toronto and CJOH, Ottawa. He has written award-winning jingles, national commercials and logged studio time in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City. As a solo artist, he has appeared across Canada and gigged in the United States, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. He has a diversified repertoire of over three hundred songs in genres of folk, rock, jazz, contemporary and country. In the Ottawa area, he has appeared at the Chateau Laurier, Club Champêtre, Casino Lac Leamy, Mont Ste. Marie, Westin Hotel, Café des Artistes and other venues.
